BIG SITE came across it looking for Sikh Prayers, my grandad is Bhagwan Singh Gold dont know were surname came from but 200% Bhat Rai! my family have some legendry pics of Bhatra community in north London in the early 50's my grandad was also one of the founder members of a Gurudwara in Manor House North London, after some digging around i found out our jaat is Tak and my Grandad was given the surname Gold through his London East End contacts and and our family has contiued using it! bumped into some sangat from Edinborough Tak and landa Jurys in Islington, another thing love it power to the Bhats, and we spell Tak with one a i feel it sounds better with two a's, i am told i am a tariwaal what does that mean?

WGJKK WJKF - i THINK AS A BHAT SIKH GROWING UP IN EAST LONDON AMOUNST OTHER CASTES, I BELIEVE THE BHATS SIKS ARE A BIT BACKWARDS AND NEED TO CHANGE WITH TIMES. i AM PROUD TO BE A BHAT SIKH, BUT I AM AFRAID A FEW CUSTOMS THAT BHAT SIKHS UNDERTAKE, I DONT AGREE WITH.

WAHE GURU JI, I am very much surprised to read about the BHAT community spread all over the world. It seems most of them fought against Muslim empire and some escaped during their atrocities over this brave and brained community resulted scattered presence in India and world to revive their existance. I belongs to so called Rai Bhatt community from Mathura UP near Bharatpur Raj. Hope this website will bring all the Bhatt to think and enable them to realise the reasons of their scattered presence and sacrifice lost during past.
